Happenings at the RKilts Atellier

February 11, 2010

off the wall day

I’ve been working on a leather kilt today. I was also in the process of making a ranger belt and went to stitch it up and jammed big thumper (Adler105) with a rogue piece of thread. That tiny bit of thread threw the timing off on the machine and I have to bring the beast in for a tune-up. Needless to say that will put me a few hours behind in production.
I was involved with a “Webinar” today on social networking and business. Learned a few new ideas with twitter.
I have been fortunate to be able to hire a co-op student to assist me on enhancing the website setting up this blog. With her help you will be able to see some of the changes we have in store for you with regards to RKilts web presence.
A new colour in hemp has been added to the roster and I hope to have a kilt made from it soon with pictures.
Friday is another day, I’m still enjoying this.
Cheers

Welcome to the Ramblings of RKilts Kiltmaker

A hearty welcome.
In the age of e-commerce, it tends to be a one dimensional world. Over the next few months, we at RKilts meaning me will be exploring social media and utilizing it to expand on the consumers experience of the decision process and purchase of a product. Thus giving it another dimension
The goal is to produce video clips on products, how to measure, and tours of the shop.
SKYPE has been and will continue to play an important role in communication between myself and the consumer. You will see on the website a SKYPE icon informing you whether I’m available. Generally I will be in the shop from 9:00AM -5:30PM Eastern Standard time. Having said that I tend to be on outside these times as well.
You can follow us via twitter and there is also a FaceBook fan page. Both are accessible from the contact link on the website.
I will be launching the RKilts cafe. This is a forum tied to the website to enable you to mingle with other people in the contemporary kilt world.
Enjoy
Cheers
