The weekend
This morning I was greeted with a bit of snow on the ground, no problem. Get the shovel out and clear the sidewalk in front of the store as well as my neighbours. (I need the exercise) As I was clearing the snow in front of York Street Kitchen, my friends David and Alan signal me to join them for breakfast. It’s 8:00am I wanted to get an early start, but what the heck. So breakfast it was at York Street Kitchen.

Enjoyed my breakfast then took the 16 steps back to my shop to finish off a black hemp kilt.
It was quiet on the street, I was in the shop alone listening to CBC radio, checkin’ my social media pages, responding to posts. Graham commented that I should get back to work. He’s one of my best customers and resides in Tasmania. The reason he wants me to spend the long hours in the shop is he’s waiting on the first “Army green hemp kilt”!!!!
Below is a photo of what was done today. I put on buckles, rivets, and made a ranger belt to finish the one black hemp kilt, then laid out, top stitched assembled the second kilt. The second will be finished tomorrow morning and I then will start on a taupe one to match the black one. (One customer knew he was going to enjoy the kilt so he ordered two at the same time).

All in all a productive day. Time to go home and mark some papers
Cheers
